Building a party that survives Ember Vow's late game
Ember Vow seems forgiving at first, then chapter five arrives and suddenly every fight punishes a sloppy party. The fix isn't higher levels — it's understanding how elements pair.
Each character leans toward one element, and placing two complementary types next to each other in formation triggers a shared defense bonus. I ignored this for ages and wondered why my strong characters kept crumpling.
My recommendation is to run one tank who soaks timing-based hits, one support who can reposition allies, and two damage dealers whose elements match. That combo got me through the toughest optional fight without grinding.
Save manually before big story beats. The auto-save is unreliable right when choices matter, and I lost a good conversation branch once because of it.
